India has finalized
plans to launch
offensive against
Pakistan: Qayyum
MUZAFFARABAD: India has finalized preparations to launch offensive against Pakistan and AJK which might lead to a nuclear war resulting in a holocaust in the region, observed AJK Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum while addressing a public meeting at Datot in Poonch district on Saturday.
He said the UN Security Council and OIC should take serious notice of the situation and stop brandished steps of India which were reflective of her impending expeditionary actions.
The AJK prime minister warned, if India resorted to aggression the whole sub-continent would turn into battle field.
Qayyum called upon people already passing through great ordeals to guard against any slackness as slightest omission at this jucture could prolong distance of national destination, he feared.
Expressing satisfaction on law and order situation in AJK Qayyum said the enemy did not want us to be stable who was out to disrupt tranquillity in the liberated areas.
Praising indomitable spirit of Kashmiri Mujahideen and invincible will of people for freedom struggle, Qayyum said in fact they were fighting for the defence and survival of Pakistan and Gulf states. He demanded of Arab states to play their part to stop carnage of un-armed Muslims and violation of human rights in Kashmir.
He said local problems should not be mingled with liberation movement which were being tackled separately with full force. He assured local leaders to meet public demands on priority basis remaining within the means.
ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Parliament's Joint Committee on Kashmir Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on Saturday led a protest walk to the Indian High Commission to condemn atrocities being committed by Indian security forces in held Kashmir.
The walk, organized by Phool Club Islamabad, was participated by Kashmiri children as a show of solidarity with their fellows in held Kashmir.
The youngsters, carrying placards and banners, read "India" stop brutalities in held Kashmir," and, "don't kill flowers of Kashmir."
Speaking to the participants, the Nasrullah spoke high of Kashmiri youngsters who have been braving Indian excesses for the last six years.
He said Pakistan will continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiri freedom struggle.
Later, the participants presented a memorandum at the Indian High Commission saying, "we the youth and participants of the walk express solidarity with those young children of Indian occupied Kashmir who are victims of Indian atrocities."
Jose Ayala Lasso, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, on Saturday said that he remained "concerned about the situation in Indian held Kashmir". He was talking to a delegation of Kashmiri leaders representing All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), which met him on Friday in Geneva.
The members of the delegation apprised the High Commissioner of the continuing deteriorating human rights situation in Indian held Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted the atrocities being perpetrated there by the Indian occupying forces.
Lasso assured the delegation that he remained concerned about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He called for an end to violence in Indian occupied Kashmir and said that it was primarily the responsibility of the government of India to see that human rights of the Kashmiri people were protected.
SRINAGAR: Meanwhile, vast areas were besieged by the Indian troops in Kupwara district and innocent people were tortured during house-to-house searches.
The areas besieged include Rampura, Rajpura, Zeerahar, Zalora, Herwan and Kili Shah. The Mujahideen reacted by engaging the troops in prolonged shoot-out in which a number of troops were killed and injured. Four Mujahideen got martyred in the action.
MUZAFFARABAD: Deputy Chief of Harkatul Ansar Sajjad Kashmiri has rebutted the allegation from Krishna Rao, Governor of Indian held Kashmir that Harkatul Ansar has abducted the foreign tourists and kept them hostage and said that Krishna Rao's statement was tantamount to concede defeat of his administration against freedom struggle of Harkatul Ansar Group of Mujahideen.
He said that Krishna Rao was known for fabricating allegations and added that in fact, Governor Rao personally raised a group of more than 150 persons to carry out activities to malign the freedom fighters.
He said that one of them Abdur Rahim has been captured by his organisation who has given the details of this counter-freedom fighting faction sponsord by Indian intelligence.-APP/PPI
