KARACHI: The Central Board of Revenue has directed Income Tax officers to hold corner meetings in their areas to apprise the tax payers of the new self-assessment scheme and the newly designed Income Tax Return Form.

Under instructions from Commissioner of Income Tax, Zone-D, Karachi, Tahir Lateef Sheikh, Income Tax Officer Aftab Hassan Rizvi, of Circle, D-07 and D-15, held a corner meeting in Empress Market. It was attended by the office-bearers and members of the Federation of Shopkeepers of Empress Market.

The IT officials explained the salient features of the broad-based Self-Assessment Scheme for 1995-96 and the new pattern of the Return Form. Aftab Rizvi answered various question put up by the shopkeepers in detail.
