KARACHI: CIA Police Karachi have recovered a dozen stolen and snatched cars from Hyderabad and various parts of the Punjab and arrested two persons.

According to details on the special instruction of DIG Karachi, who observed that cases of car snatching have gone up in the city during last two months, the DSPs Jamshed Quarter and Saddar were asked by SSP CIA to bring the persons involved to book.

The CIA party arrested suspects Qadir Dad s/o Nek Mohammed and Mohammed Saleem s/o Fida Hussain while going in a car No. W-5818, a Toyota Corolla. During interrogation they confessed to having snatched a dozen cars from the city on gun point.

On their pointation CIA parties recovered five cars from Hyderabad and seven from different districts of Punjab. Their total value is estimated at 12.5 million.

The accused were stated to have been involved in 13-14 different crimes which they committed during last two months in Karachi.

The cars recovered from Hyderabad bore following registration numbers: W-8252 Toyota Corolla, V-1869 Toyota Corolla, W-6480 Toyota Corolla, CJ-7883 Toyota Hi-Lux.

The cars recovered from Punjab carried the registration numbers of 280-582 Suzuki Alto, 247-947 Suzuki Car, R-5735 Toyota Corolla, R-8966 Suzuki Alto, 269-600 Nissan Sunni and an unregistered Suzuki.-APP
