LAHORE: The Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has directed the Communication and Works Department to immediately start construction of 40 rooms in the second phase of the construction of MPA Hostel costing rupees 10 crore.

He was presiding over a high level meeting held here at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the Speaker Punjab Assembly Muhammad Haneef Ramay, Senior Minister, Makhdoom Altaf Ahmed and Secretary Punjab Assembly.

The meeting was informed that the construction of 36 rooms in the first phase of the construction of MPA Hostel has been completed at a cost of rupees six crore while a sum of Rs 50 lakh has been allocated in the current year's budget for the construction of rooms in the second phase of the project.

Views were also exchanged about the possibility of extension in the present hall of the assembly building for meeting future requirements of legislation.
