The rupee in the open market on Tuesday depicted a depressed outlook and lost against many currencies.

It opened unchanged against its overnight closing of Rs 32.43 in terms of US dollar but lost eight paisa during the day to close at Rs 32.5 in the open market, dealers said.

Thr rupee also lost 10 and 12 paisa in terms of the pound Sterling and duetschmark respectively. Nevertheless, it firmed against the UAE dirham, Saudi Riyal and Indian rupee.
