HYDERABAD: A condolence meeting was held here late Saturday night under the aegis of action committee of Christian community to condemned the alleged murder of Javaid Maseeh by staff of Latifabad 'B' section police station and demanded public hanging of the police officials involved in the custodial death.

Michael Javaid, the Christian member of Sindh Assembly while addressing the gathering regretted police atrocities and death in police custody which had become matter of daily routine in a civilized country like Pakistan.

He said the law enforcers had become the law breakers and they were looting the people.

He said during the arrest of Javaid Maseeh all norms of civilized behaviour had been thrown to the winds and the sanctity of Chaddar and Char Devari had been violated.

He said the murder of Javaid Maseeh in police custody was a glaring example of police brutality and gross misuse of power.

He said the reaction by the Christians against the custodial death of Javaid Maseeh was quite natural.

He expressed disgust over the inordinate dealy in the arrest of the accused and demanded that he be tried in a speedy court.
