Khan to reply

to Dehlavi

tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The government will send its response to the letter of Altaf Group after Independence Day, Law Minister and leader of government negotiating team N. D. Khan said here on Sunday.

Khan told APP that he could not respond to the letter of Ajmal Dehlvi, head of Altaf Group negotiating team because of pressing engagements in the face of the National Assembly session, parliamentary party meeting and Independence Day celebrations.

He said he would send his reply on August 15.

Dehlvi in an open letter to Khan has shown his team readiness to resume talks if government stops calling his group after the name of their leader Altaf Hussain.

The government side contended that they are ready to pronounce the Altaf Group with any name of their choice provided they clarify their positions on vital issues concerning integrity and solidarity of the country.

The government wants the other side to clarify their position on the press statements and interviews of Altaf Hussain in which he reportedly described two-nation theory as, "but of jokes" and floated the proposal of confederation between Pakistan and India.-APP
