Nasrullah asks

parties to

forge unity

ISLAMABAD: Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, Chairman Kashmir Committee of the Parliament on Saturday said that National reconciliation was vital to improve internal stability and put the country on the track of progress and prosperity.

Speaking here at a function held at Interantional Islamic University (IIU) to mark Independence Day celebrations he said that national reconciliation could be achieved by adhering to Islamic values and traditions.

He said that Islam teaches tolerance, patience and forbearance and being Muslims we are duty bound to implement Islamic teachings in our lives.

He said that we should try to revive Islamic values and traditions and establish supremacy of law and justice in the country. The difference of opinion should not be taken as personal enmity and instead disputes could be sorted out through dialogues, he said and added that the doors of talks should not be closed down as it was the basics of democracy.

Nawabzada called upon the political parties to forge complete unity among their ranks to overcome internal and external threats.

He said that formation of Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) by different religious parties was a commendable step and it had greatly helped to reduce sectarian hatred among different segments of the society.

He said that after the fall of communism in Russia, the United States has become sole super power of the world, but it was not supporting the Muslim World which was confronting a number of problems. The Muslims of Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechina and Palestine were facing atrocities and oppression at the hand of anti-Islamic forces.

He said that "National unity and internal stability is required to make Pakistan the fort of Islam".

He said that India which claims itself the world's biggest democratic state was committing genocide of Kashmiri Muslim freedom fighters. Moreover, Muslims of India were facing hardship at the hands of Hundu fundamentalists who were bent upon desecration of mosques and shrines in India and occupied Kashmir. They had even not spared golden temple of Sikhs and desecrated it many times.

He said that valiant Kashmiri freedom fighters were continuing their war of independence against Indian illegal and immoral occupation over the held Kashmir. He said that Indian army could not weaken Kashmir liberation struggle even after passing of six years. India had replaced two governors in its occupied Kashmir territory on their failure of carrying out general elections in the valley.

Later, Malik Meraj Khalid, Rector of the International Islamic University (IIU), in his concluding remarks thanked Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan for gracing the occasion.-APP
