KARACHI: Four persons, including a police head constable, were killed in different incidents of firing in the city on Saturday.

Mohammad Nawaz, head constable, was killed in targeted firing in Saeedabad area. His body was removed to Civil Hospital.

Abdul Qadir and Salim were killed in sniper firing in Orangi Town.

An unidentified dead body was found lying near United Bakers, Saddar.

Ahmed, 45, and Hamid, 14, were killed in a road accident near Al-Asif Square, Gulzar-e-Hijri.

Ishrat Hafiz, a housewife, was shot a injured in North Nazimabad.

Ali Zaman, Sub-Inspector of Police, was brought to Civil Hospital from Kalakot area with a gun shot wound.

Armed men torched a yellow cab and a car in Jehangirabad.

Law enforcement agencies cordoned off several areas of Orangi Town Extension and started house to house search for recovery of arms and arrest of criminals. The agencies rounded up over 200 persons aged between 12 to 40 years for investigation.

A yellow cab driver and his accoumplice looted Zarak Khan and Mir Zaman, the leading squash players of the country, and took away their passports, 700 dollars, Rs 4000 and other documents on gun point.

Both the players had hired a yellow cab from PECHS to go to airport. The cab driver picked up his friend with the permission of the players, to drop him, as he said, near Midway Hotel.

Six armed men barged into the house of Nazeer Ahmed, Deputy General Manager, Finance Pak Telecommunication Corporation, in PECHS Block 6 and took away Rs 2 lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh, 17,000 dollars and his car on gun point.

Five armed men approached the cashier of Liaquat National Hospital and took away Rs 5 lakh on gun point.

Law enforcement agencies raided the house of Usama Qadri, former MPA and top die-hard worker of MQM and arrested Naim Sheri and Sarwar Mirza, the bodyguards of Qadri in Orangi Town. Qadri was not present at the time of the raid.
