CHICAGO, Aug 10 (Reuter) - CBOT rice futures closed lower in choppy trading traders said on Thursday.

But the market remains underpinned by a firm world cash market and signals of good demand.

"The market believes there is serious inquiries into the U.S. cash market because of the bargain basement prices," he said.

Rice closed seven to nine cents per cwt lower, with September down seven at $7.98.-Reuter
