Aga Khans blessed with son

GOUVIEUX, (France): Their Highnesses the Aga Khan and Begum Inaara Aga Khan announce the birth on Tuesday in Paris, of a son, Prince Aly Muhammad. Hazrat Aly was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and first Imam of the Shia Muslims. The Aga Khan, whose late father's name was Aly, is the 49th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili community.

The couple, who were married in France in May 1998, both have children by former marriages: The Aga Khan has three children from his previous marriage, Princess Zahra, born in 1970, Prince Rahim (1971) and Prince Hussain, (1974), Begum Inaara Aga Khan has a daughter from her earlier marriage, Princess Theresa zu Leiningen, born in 1992.
