KARACHI: Naheed Parven, the president of All Pakistan Human Rights and Legal Aid Association, has condemned the "hooliganism" and disturbance caused by some of the Karachi Bar Association members during the address of Kulsoom Nawaz to them on Wednesday.

Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was invited by the Karachi Bar Association to address its members at 12:30 p.m.

When she reached the KBA at about 1 p.m., some of the members raised slogans against PML and praised the government for taking Nawaz Sharif to task for his alleged wrongdoing.

They did not spare Kulsoom Nawaz and asked her to leave the Bar room

There was pandemonium and complete confusion till some of the senior members of the KBA tried to cool down the situation.

Kulsoom Nawaz, however, addressed the members and acknowledged their contribution towards building Pakistan a progressing country.

She remained there for a short time and later left the KBA.

Parven said on March 8, "When the world is observing Women's Day, the members of the KBA demonstrated their attitude towards women by trying to misbehave with Kulsoom Nawaz who was their guest."
