boards win English
debate competition
KARACHI: Kamil Farid of Hyderabad Board and Ms Naqvi of Karachi Board won the English debate competition for boys and girls respectively organised by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi at its premises.
The results were announced by the BIEK in a statement on Monday.
It said that the Nishan-i-Zafar in this very section went to Hyderabad Board.
Khalid Amin and Umatul Habib-both from Karachi Board, won the Urdu debate competitions for male and female students respectively. Karachi Board also obtained the Nishan-i-Zafar.
Saifullah and Sabira Chachar-both from Sukkur Board, secured first positions among the male and female students respectively while the Nishan-i-Zafar was claimed by the Hyderabad Board.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of BIEK, Dr Mohammad Sharif Memon, said that apart from the academic activities, the BIEK will continue to hold the extra-curricular activities also.
He announced that next year the BIEK in association with other boards in the province would hold a science exhibition.
Students who participated in these competitions praised the efforts of chairman BIEK, Dr Mohammad Sharif Memon and secretary, Mohammad Zaheer Khan Paras.
Prof Kaniz Abidi, former principal of St Joseph's College, who was the chief guest, gave away prizes to the winning students.ÑAPP
