EPB chief to visit F'abad
FAISALABAD: State Minister and Export Promotion Bureau Chairman Tariq Ikram will visit Faisalabad on Wednesday. According to official sources here, he will visit Chenab Fabrics before addressing the officers in EPB. He will have detailed meetings with the office-bearers of various organisations including, hosiery association, power loom association and All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association.ÑAPP
Govt refutes PML charges
ISLAMABAD: An official spokesman on Monday denied the allegations of PML (N) that the government was trying to foment discord in the party. "Ours is a non-partisan government which does not believe in such things", the spokesman said while referring to the statement of PML Coordination Committee Convener Raja Zafar-ul-Haq. The spokesman said the government does not need to create groups in a party in which "several groups already exist and which is a matter of common knowledge". He said the government is endeavouring to promote national harmony and does not intend to indulge in any such activity.ÑAPP
Academy of Letters seminar
LAHORE: Pakistan Academy of Letters is arranging a seminar and poetic sitting in connection with World Women's Day on Tuesday. The theme of the seminar is "Role of Women in Pakistani literature". Prominent among those who will attend the seminar include Shahnaz Muzzamil, Saira Hashmi, Prof Atiya Syed and Tahir Ashgar. Columnist and playwright Begum Bushra Rehman will preside.ÑAPP
PIA clarification
KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Monday clarified a report that the doors of its aircraft were closed at Gwadur airport before its departure for Turbat. "At no stage or junction was the safety of the passengers, crew and aircraft in jeopardy as inadvertently reported in the press. The report is totally false and misleading", says a press release of the airline issued in Karachi.ÑPPI
Train timings
LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has revised timings of two trains, Lahore-Mari Indus and Lahore-Narowal. Lahore-Mari Indus will now depart from here at 5.15 pm and reach Mari Indus at 6.55 am the next day. The daily train for Narowal will leave here at 5.05 pm and reach Narowal at 7.40 pm the same night. Stoppages of both the trains, however, remain unchanged.ÑAPP
