Edhi plans children village in Lahore

LAHORE: Abdul Sattar Edhi called on the Punjab Governor Lt Gen Mohammad Safdar (Retd), at Governor House, on Monday and offered to set up an Edhi Children Village and Centre at Lahore on the pattern of Karachi for the education and training of disabled, orphans and lost children.

Abdul Sattar Edhi requested the Governor for provision of a suitable piece of land at official rates situated away from the city for this welfare-oriented project.

Begum Bilquis Edhi, their son Faisal Edhi and Zia Shahid were also present.

Paying tributes to the services of Abdul Sattar Edhi in the social sector, the governor said that the government would extend full help to him for the completion of the proposed welfare project. APP
