Huge narcotics, arms hand

QUETTA: Anti-Narcotics Force Balochistan in two different operations recovered arms and ammunition and a big quantity of drugs in Chagai district near Pak-Afghan border on Friday and Saturday.

According to a press release of the ANF, in one operation conducted in Girdi Jungle Afghan refugee camp near Dalbandin 12 kgs of heroin was recovered from two houses and one kg of a chemical suspected to be a precursor required for converting morphine into heroin, a repeater was also found from the place.

However no one could be arrested as the male members fled the houses leaving ladies and children behind. A case has been registered against the owner of the house.

In the second incident in Dak area of Nushki near Pak-Afghan border, the ANF working on a tip-off mounted a search operation last night. When the troops reached the border, drug traffickers hiding in mountains started firing with automatic weapons. The troops returned the fire damaging the vehicle.

The drug traffickers escaped to Afghanistan leaving behind the vehicle. On search 600 kgs of hashish, 280 kgs of opium, one AK-47 rifle with 23 rounds and 49 machine gun rounds in a belt. The market value of the drug in international market is estimated at Rs 100 million. APP
