APHC hopes Clinton
will try to resolve
Kashmir issue
ISLAMABAD: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference activists have expressed the hope that the US President, Bill Clinton, will endeavour for resolving the Kashmir issue during his South Asia visit.
Kashmir Media Service correspondent reports that the APHC activists, while addressing Juma congregations in Srinagar and other places in the Valley, also expressed hope that President Clinton might succeed in convincing Indian leadership to concede to Kashmiris their right to decide their political future by themselves.
The APHC activists, while congratulating Kashmiris on successful protect strike on Thursday, said this was a practical demonstration that all Kashmiris were averse to the recent killing of five truck drivers on Srinagar-Jammu Highway.
This was also a collective and vocal rebuttal to the Indian disinformation campaign to ascribe this heinous crime to liberation activists. They emphasised that by such lies, the glaring fact could not be hidden that this abhorrent act was the working of the Indian secret agencies to malign the liberation movement.
9 KILLED IN BUS BLAST
Meanwhile, a powerful bomb blast occurred at Sarhind in Indian Punjab in a bus Friday morning while on way from Jammu to New Delhi, killing 9 and injuring 15 passengers.
According to Indian official sources, the bomb was planted in the bus. They said the blast blew the roof of the bus. The injured were admitted to Sarhind Hospital.
The police in New Delhi have ordered the hotal owners to immediately report to the police when any Kashmiri checks into a hotel.
According to Jammu correspondent of KMS, the Mujahideen attacked the personnel of 8 Rashtria Rifles in Village Laadna, in Gundwa Tehsil of Doda, killing a lance naik, Ramna Kumar, and injuring several other troops. The injured, admitted to Udhampur military hospital, including a JCO, were reported to be in critical condition. At Kalakote in Rajouri, the troops suffered a number of casualties in Mujahideen attack. One Mujahid was reported martyred.
The Mujahideen ambushed a military petrol at Sangrama, on Srinagar-Baramula Road, injuring several troops. The troops in their punitive action, besieged the area and subjected to violence innocent men and women. At least six people were arrested.
Several troops were reported killed and injured in Mujahideen action at Naupura Seerjagir, in Sopore area. A Mujahid Commander, Waleed, alias Naveedul Qamar, got martyred.
A task force patrol came under Mujahideen attack at Kulapura, in Kolgam and several personnel were injured. Three BSF personnel were injured in Mujahideen's attack at Butmaloo, in Srinagar.
An office-bearer of pro-India national conference was harshly beaten up by troops, near Ganderbal, and had to be admitted to hospital. Two dead bodies were recovered in Kupware and Baramula and, according to local people, they were killed in custody.
DEMO IN DHAKA
In Bangladesh, a demonstration was held in front of UN office in Dhaka to condemn the killing of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian army across the LoC. The demonstrators, carrying placards and banners gathered in front of UN office. The banners and placards read: India-stop killing innocent Kashmiris', 'Shame on India for Killing in Kashmir,' 'UN Ñ stop India for Killing Kashmiris,' and 'Save Innocent Kashmiris from Indian Soldiers.' The demonstrators demanded that the UN play active role and stop India from killing innocent Kashmiris.
The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Alliance, consisting of 13 Youth Organisations will hold a protest rally on the Mall, Lahore, at 2.00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, against Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and brutal killings of Innocent Kashmiris across LoC. The protest rally has been organised by the Punjab Zone of the Alliance, which will be led among others by Chairman of the Alliance, Sardar Shaukat Mehmood of the alliance.ÑAPP
