Gudu Barrage canals to be closed for annual maintenance

SUKKUR: All the canals off-taking from Gudu Barrage will remain closed from April 1, 2000 to April 30, 2000 (both days inclusive) for normal inspection/maintenance and necessary repairs of infrastructure. This was announced by Mir Mohammad Pathan, Chief Engineer Gudu Barrage on Thursday.

The gates of Barrage will be raised gradually from mid-night between March 31 and April 1, 2000 and will be lowered again from mid-night between April 30, and May 1, 2000, the announcement said.

It further informed the Farmers and Land Owners settled in Gudu Barrage Canal command area that for the above period there will be no flow of water in any of the off-taking canals, i.e., Ghotki Feeder, Begari Sindh Feeder and Desert Pat Feeder.ÑAPP
