AJK Ehtesab Bench admits three references

MUZAFFARABAD: The Ehtesab Bench of the AJK High Court on Thursday admitted for hearing three references filed by AJK Ethsab Commission against former director general and present accountant Auqaf department and Xen, SDO and contractor of Development Authority Muzaffarabad (DAM) for corruption, misappropriation of funds and misuse of powers and issued notices to the accused.

Former director-general Auqaf Iftikhar Hussian Abbasi, accountant Mohammed Mushtaq allegedly embezzled Rs 903,000 and illegally drew Rs 31,000 after relieving from the post. Kh. Faqir Mohammed Xen, Nazir Hussian Shah, SDO and Khalid Saraf, contractor, Development Authority Muzaffarabad (DAM), allegedly embezzlled Rs 275,000 in the erection and supply of poles to DAM.

Ethesab bench of AJK High Court comprised Mr. Justice Raiz Akhtar Choudhary on Thursday admitted the references for regular hearing and summoned the accused on April.

Kh. Attaullah Chakk Ethesab Commission special prosecutor giving his arguments said references contained solid proofs of corruption and misuse of powers by the accused which caused lakhs of rupees loss to national exechequer.
