Adidas-Pakistan laboratory inaugurated in Sialkot

LAHORE: Dagmar Stiegler, head of Global Accessories and Gear Operations of Adidas, the world leading sports materiel manufacturer company, inaugurated the Adidas-Pakistan laboratory at Sialkot on Thursday.

The laboratory, which was established with a project cost of Rs 4.5 million, was the third quality control laboratory of Adidas after Germany and Hong Kong. The impressive inaugural ceremony was participated by the officials of Adidas as well as leading manufacturers and traders of the soccer ball industry.

Speaking on this occasion, Dagmar Stiegler stated that Pakistan is very important for Adidas as it manufactured more than 60 percent share of the total Adidas football production. She said that the new laboratory will not only save the time of football manufacturers but also reduce the production cost of footballs.

She said that the Adidas is providing full support to its Pakistani manufacturers to maintain and further improve the standard of their products.

Shahid Mehmood, deputy commissioner, Sialkot, said on the occasion that the government is taking all-out steps to eliminate child labour.

He added that the government is encouraging the exporters and providing all-out help to them.

Prof. Amin Javaid, chairman, Sublime group of companies, stated that the establishment of the laboratory is a reflection of Adidas' confidence on Pakistani industry.

He said that the guidance of German experts has helped a lot the Pakistani football industry to increase its standard.

All the participants of the ceremony visited the Sublime soccer village.
