China Continental to launch dairy project by end of March

ISLAMABAD: China Continental Inc announced on Thursday it will begin the first phase of its dairy project in Pakistan before the end of March 2000.

The Company said during this first phase, consultants to China Continental will initiate their activities, including researching properties for acquisition. By the end of the second quarter, the Company expects to have identified production and distribution operations for purchase.

China Continental said this announcement was part of its continuing efforts to keep investors informed of progress on its international expansion plans.

The Pakistan Dairy Project is a US $ 1 billion venture based upon realising the full potential for providing modern techniques to the dairy industry in Pakistan, including related infrastructure such as airports and roads to enhance the distribution of the products. The dairy farm will run by a fully automated production process, which ensures that dairy products manufactured in the plant are of a consistent high quality and can simultaneously achieve economies of scale.

By setting up the dairy plant, China Continental Inc hopes to meet its goal of becoming the largest dairy producer in Pakistan, as well as South Asia. The master plan is to design and construct a state-of-the-art dairy production plant on a scale that the management believe will become one of the largest in the world.

China Continental Inc started out in turnkey projects and has since built a significant operation in various key industries such as bio-technology, manufacturing and agriculture. The Company believe that building upon extensive knowledge of turnkey projects will ensure that the dairy plant achieves its goals.
