3 more witnesses record statements in serial killing case

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Allah Baksh Ranjha recorded the statements of three more prosecution witnesses in the serial killings case and adjourned the proceedings for further hearing till March 3.

The judge also directed the jail senior deputy superintendent to appear before the court and explain as to why they did not provide clothes and other necessary articles to the accused despite the repeated directions of the court.

A journalist Jamil Chishti, hand writing expert Ms. Pervaiz Ahlam Sheikh and mother of a victim of the incident Afsar Khatoon recorded their statements.

Jamil Chishti contended before the court that the main accused had confessed the offence before him. He produced the audio of his statement, in which he had confessed the offence.

The main accused, however, told the court that the witness did not produce his complete statement before the court as he had recorded a long interview.
