Ex-administrator of KMC arrested after release, says counsel
KARACHI: Mushahidullah, a former administrator of KMC and a leader of PML(N), was arrested just after his release under section 3 of MPO (Maintenance of Public Order).
This was stated before a division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, by Syed Nehal Hashmi counsel for the detenu on Tuesday.
The bench after this statement at bar by the counsel, sought details from the government on March 30.
The same bench also adjourned till March 30 petition filed against detention of Tariq Khan, Vice President of PML (N), Sindh.
The court also sought details from the state as to how many cases were pending against the detenu. Tariq Khan is also under detention for a period of 30 days on the order of DM/DC Central under section 3 of MPO.
Meanwhile, the same bench granted bail to an accused Ghulam Nabi Dahri against a surety of Rs 50,000. The accused was arrested by Naushehro Feroz police on charge of dacoity.
Another bench of SHC comprising Justice Ghulam Nabi Soomro and Justice Wahid Bux Brohi reserved order on a bail application moved by Rauf B Qadri of Bankers Equity Limited. The accused was arrested on charge of misusing his official capacity and for criminal breach of trust.
Another bench of SHC comprising Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Wahid Bux Brohi adjourned till Wednesday as part heard an appeal filed by Ramesh M Udeshi, former Sindh Secretary Land Utilisation.
Amir Hani Muslim appeared for the appellant Udeshi who challenged his conviction by Accountability Court 1 headed by Dr Qamaruddin Vohra sentencing him to seven years RI and fine of Rs 100,000 in an alleged illegal allotment of land case. APP
