BA introduces Boeing-777 on Islamabad-London route
RECORDER REPORT
ISLAMABAD: The British Airways has downgraded its flight equipment on its Pakistan-UK route by replacing Jumbo with the Boeing-777 from Monday.
It has also modified the flight route by skipping Manchester and thus making the flight a non-stop operation between Islamabad and Heathrow.
The British flag carrier has also replaced its country manager for Pakistan and the new incumbent is Roland Blaney who has taken over from David Sterland.
The configuration of the new equipment will be 195 seats in the "World Traveller" section which is the new name for the economy class 56 for the Business (Club) and 14 in the First Class.
The airlines held an inaugural function in Rawalpindi on Sunday night for explaining to its clients and travel agents main features of the new facility and also introduce its new manager. The function was attended by the High Commissioner of Britain and ambassadors from the United States and Switzerland and the Area Commercial Manager, Harvey Lines who had flown from Dubai for the occasion.
