First direct PIA

FAISALABAD: PIA is starting two weekly direct Faisalabad-Dubai flights and the first flight will depart from here on Monday night.

PIA has included two direct weekly flights from Faisalabad to Dubai in its new schedule effective from March, 26 (today). According to this schedule, one flight is to depart on Monday at 11.55 a.m. and the second on Saturday at 8.55 a.m.

Although it will be direct flight on Faisalabad-Dubai route, but also cater to Multan as it will also touch Multan via Faisalabad on both ways.

PIA had earlier started flights for Faisalabad-Dubai but the same were discontinued on the pretext of unsustainable traffic load. However, now PIA authorities have linked it with Multan also to tap traffic load from Multan and Bahawalpur divisions. The Airline has allocated Boeing 737 for this flight which has seating capacity of 88 passengers.

The local industrialists have recently completed international terminal at Faisalabad Airport one self help basis with an estimated cost of Rs 5 million to qualify this airport for international flights. These funds were donated by the local businessmen representing All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association (APCEA), All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI).ÑAPP
