FSC spring session starts tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Shariat Court will open its spring session here from Monday. Chief Justice Fazal Ellahi Khan, Justice Dr Fida Mohammad Khan and Justice Khan Riazuddin Ahmed will form the bench.

The bench will examine the Civil Servants Act, the Prison Rules and some other laws in accordance with the Islamic injunctions.

There are nearly 38 petitions have been put on the cause list seeking a preliminary hearing and some 16 have been fixed for regular hearing. The bench is to sit for a week.

A petitioner has also questioned the applicability of the current Pension Rules in a Muslim state and seeks a scrutiny in the light of Islamic practices.
