LHC issues notice to Multan jail superintendent

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued notice to the Superintendent central jail Multan, for April 06, in a petition field by M. D. Tahir advocate praying to the court to direct the respondent to provide proper medical facilities to the jail inmates.

The petitioner, who had visited the jail under the court directions presented a detailed report before the court highlighting the situation of the jail and the condition of the jail inmates.

He therefore filed a petition before the court praying to direct the respondent jail authorities and the provincial government to ensure the provision of the medical facilities to the jail inmates.

The petitioner informed the court that due to lack of medical facilities, more than half of the jail inmates were suffering from T.B while rest of them were leading a miserable life.

The court after hearing him in detail issued notice to the respondents for April 06.
