Clinton arriving in Islamabad today
ISLAMABAD: President Bill Clinton arrives Saturday on a short visit to Islamabad at the last leg of his South Asian tour and Pakistani leadership would urge him to help find a peaceful solution to the festering Kashmir issue.
Clinton will hold talks with President Mohammad Rafiiq Tarar and Chief Executive Gen. Pervez Musharraf on Pak-US bilateral relations, nuclear non-proliferation, terrorism and other issues.
Kashmir will figure prominently during the talks as it was the major irritant bedevilling relations between the two newest nuclear powers in South Asia.
Chief Executive Gen. Pervez Musharraf on Friday presided over a high-level meeting to discuss matters relating to the US President Bill Clinton's visit to Pakistan.
Members of the National Security Council and Federal Cabinet attended the meeting, Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider told newsmen here at a function today.
To a question he said the meeting was of routine matter which also discussed some other matters of public importance. APP
