Decision reserved in court fee enhancement case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has reserved its decision in a petition field by advocate M D Tahir against the enhancement of court fee.

The petitioner contended that it was impossible for the people to bear the expenses of the litigation as they were facing financial restraints.

He said the decision to enhance the court fee was against the fundamental rights of the people towards cheap and speedy justice.

He, therefore, prayed to the court to declare the notification issued for enhancement of the court fee as illegal, unjust and against the public interest.

The court after hearing him and the law officer, at length, reserved its verdict.
