Indian police besiege
APHC head office
in Srinagar
ISLAMABAD: The Indian police have besieged the head office of All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Srinagar (occupied Kashmir) Sunday and thoroughly searched it.
This has been done to prevent possible demonstrations on the occasion of President Clinton's arrival in India, PTV reported.
Hurriyat Conference has expressed the confidence that President Clinton will accord highest priority to the Kashmir issue during his visit to South Asia and play an effective role for resolving this issue.
The acting APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has called an emergency of the APHC executive in Srinagar on Monday to deliberate on its programme in the context of Clinton's South Asian visit.
APHC has already given call for protest strike across Occupied Kashmir on Wednesday coinciding with the President Clinton's address to the Indian parliament.
The strike is intended to remind President Clinton that hands of his Indian hosts were red with the blood of 75,000 Kashmiris.ÑAPP
