Dacoits loot passenger wagon on motorway

FAISALABAD: A passenger wagon was looted on Motorway service road in the area of police post Barnala near here on Saturday night.

A New Khan Road Runner Mercedes Panther left Pindi-Bhattian inter-change and was travelling on the service road when a gang of dacoits blocked the road by placing wood logs. As the driver slow down the vehicle, the dacoits armed with kalashnikov rifles surrounded the wagon while three of them boarded it and started looting passengers.

On resistance, the driver and some of the passengers were tortured while the dacoits also smashed window panes in a bid to create terror among the passenger.

In the meantime, a car (BRA-1121) arrived at the scene from Pindi-Bhattian. The dacoits tried to force it to stop but its driver tried to run away. At this the dacoits opened fired finally managing to stop the car.

Later, the dacoits off-loaded the passengers and took the bus and car towards chak No.113-JB. After sometime the police arrived and on the pointation of passengers, they chased the dacoits but the dacoits managed to flee.
