Diplomatic intervention sought for Kashmir

Muzaffarabad: AJK Prime Minister Sultan Mehmood Choudhary has demanded of the super powers of the world to intervene diplomatically for early solution of the Kashmir dispute keeping in view the worsening situation.

Addressing a reception hosted in his honor by overseas Kashmiris community in New Heium city of UK on Wednesday, he urged the influential countries of the world to intervene in Kashmir diplomatically in wake of detoriating situation there.

He warned that if the governments of USA and UK did not immediately intervene in Kashmir to help enable Kashmiris to exercise their right to self determination, a nuclear holocaust would shake the peace of the world.

Mounting Indian aggression on the line of control and massacre of innocent civilians by Indian commandos in occupied and Azad Kashmir were forcing the situation towards a war between India and Pakistan.

He said the world should realise that India and Pakistan were not only nuclear powers, but that if the present situation prevails both could strike each other at any moment.

He demanded of the USA and UK to mediate between Pakistan and India for a just solution of the long standing Kashmir dispute so that confrontration between both countries may end and lasting peace may prevail in South Asia.

He said he that if the Kashmir dispute was not resolved as per the wishes of Kashmiris, the region could not find peace.

The prime minister said the world community would have to play its due role for the settlement of the Kashmir issue and would have to restrain India from aggressive acts.

Kashmir born Mayor of New Heium Council, Raiz Mirza, and his dupty and former mayor were also present on the occasion.
