KARACHI: Gulbahao organisation on Thursday proposed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to launch a joint venture for optimum utility and disposal of the garbage through Safai/Kamai Bank, Mangal Bazaars.

The proposal was made in a meeting of Nargis Latif of Gulbahao with KMC Administrator, Brig Abdul Haq here. There will be no financial implications on the part of the KMC but it will get 85 percent income from the disposal/sale of garbage to the re-cycling factories.

The KMC will, however, look after the publicity side of the project, the proposal stated.

The KMC administrator, showing keen interest in the project, said that other non-governmental organisations will be pursued to launch such projects throughout the city. He said the first priority of the KMC in launching any such joint venture is the cleanliness rather than monetary benefit. Though the KMC is not aversive to any income source, but the first preference is the cleanliness, he asserted.ÑAPP
