Govt considering out-sourcing of social welfare functions

LAHORE: The Punjab government is considering out-sourcing of social welfare functions so as to provide proper service and care to socially handicapped people of the society.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Shaheen Atiq-ur-Rehman, while presiding over a meeting in this regard at the Directorate General Social Welfare, Punjab, here on Thursday.

The minister said that department needs financial assistance in the welfare projects running for the socially handicapped people, especially for women and children.

She said that the government would help and guide the non-governmental organisations as it could not do all the things alone. She said that out-sourcing and sharing is a must to rehabilitate the deserving people of the society enabling them to become useful citizens.
