ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Irshad Hassan Khan has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow on the sad demise of Justice Zakiuddin Pal.

In a condolence message to his wife, Justice Irshad said: "I am deeply grieved on the sad demise of your husband justice Zakiuddin Pal. As a member of the legal fraternity, he employed his best in the cause of justice and thus by sheer hard work, he rose to a place of prominence among the eminent jurists of the day".

He said, a clear recognition of his great personal merit and high legal acumen came when he was elevated to the great institution of the Lahore High Court.

Paying rich tributes to Justice Pal, the Chief Justice said, he made great contribution in strengthening the institutions and in keeping the banner of the rule of law high.

He said the death of Justice Zakiuddin Pal is an immense loss, not only for the bereaved family but also for the country.

"May Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and tranquillity and give you and your family members fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Amen".ÑAPP
