KARACHI: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has officially announced disassociation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and industry (FPCCI).

In a letter to the press, Aptma made clear that it has decided immediate disassociation from the FPCCI.

Addressing the FPCCI president, the letter reads that the Central Managing Committee of Aptma, in its meeting on march 14, 2000, discussed, in depth, the relations between Aptma and FPCCI including your reply to Aptma's letter, and concluded that instead of adopting a reconciliatory posture to resolve Aptma's grievances, you have gone a step further in aggravating the matter by issuing a show-cause notice to Aptma representative in FPCCI's Managing Committee. The Central Managing Committee of Aptma passed the following resolution.

"The Central Managing Committee of Aptma at its meeting held on March 14, 2000, has resolved to immediately disassociate itself from the Membership of FPCCI and directs its Representatives to resign from the Managing Committee and general Body of FPCCI forthwith. Further Aptma may reconsider its decision of disassociation, if FPCCI retracts its negative actions publicly. Further resolved that the Chief Executive of Aptma should inform FPCCI President about this decision immediately."
