Iftekhar vows to
eliminate corruption,
inefficiency
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications, Lt. Gen. Iftikhar Hussain Shah (Retd) has pledged to eliminate "corruption, inefficiency and red-tapism" from communications departments on priority basis.
He aid this while presiding over the meeting of the heads of various attached departments of the Ministry of Communications held here on Wednesday.
The meeting was also attended by the senior officials of the ministry.
The minister stressed upon the experts to complete on-going projects in time.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Communications Dr. Mohammad Akram Sheikh, the heads of attached departments of the Ministry and senior officials.
Iftikhar Hussain Shah who took oath at Federal Minister urged the heads of the Communications' Department to work with national spirit and dedication for development and expansion of communications sector.
He said, significance of communications is an accepted one for agricultural, industrial and social development.
The minister directed to keep all the communication projects transparent and to take all decisions on merit.
Federal Secretary Dr. Mohammad Akram Sheikh said, highly qualified and experienced teams are engaged in all the departments of the ministry and steps are being taken to streamline all the projects.
He said, a sum of Rs. 14 billion has been saved in the telecommunications sector, and hindrances are removed to ensure timely completion of national highways projects.ÑAPP
