Minister for Minority Affairs Derick Cyprian said minorities of Pakistan are fully behind Kashmiris who are seeking right of self-determination.

He urged the UN representatives to convey feelings of minorities to the UN Secretary-General which want resolution of the Kashmir issue it has made population of more than one billion of South Asia as hostage. Economic development of the area too is hampered because of this issues, he added.

The minister said majority of Indian population is reeling under extreme poverty but the Indian government is madly diverting its resources to military build-up to subjugate Kashmiris.

Kashmir Affairs Minister Abbas Sarfraz said India has let loose a reign of terror on Kashmiris by employing third degree methods. Even Kashmiris are not safe on LoC where occupying forces from the other side shell the area daily.

He said Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of the UN and it is the moral duty of the world body to resolve this issue as it has become nuclear flash-point which can engulf the whole world.

He said Pakistan is ready to hold dialogue with India to settle the issue peacefully. If the world and UN can solve issue of Kosovo, Bosnia and East Timor peacefully, why not this longest issue on the UN agenda. It can be solved through third party mediation, he said.

Ansar Burney said on the occasion, he will hand over video film of the Indian raids across the LoC to the UN representatives. He urged the UN to exert pressure on India to allow Human Rights Organisations to visit occupied Kashmir.

He said he will also stage protest rallies in New York before the UN headquarters and White House in Washington.

The UN representatives on the occasion promised to convey the feelings expressed by the ministers and the human rights activists to the UN Secretary-General.

The chained women including Dr. Nasima Jogezai, Shamim Shal and Dalnishin Hussain were also unchained on the occasion.ÑAPP
