Ehtesab cases
against Qamar,
Azeem adjourned
till 28th
RAWALPINDI: Justice Rustam Ali Malik of Accountability Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of corruption cases against Naveed Qamar and Air Mar Waqar Azeem (Retd) till March 28.
The court observed that formal trial of the Ehtesab cases may be started so that formal hearing of the cases would be started from next day of hearing.
Barrister Choudhary Aitzaz Ahsan, the defence counsel of Naveed Qamar on Tuesday moved two applications seeking permission of the court for the meetings between accused Naveed Qamar and his family members including wife and two minor daughters on Eid-ul-Azha.
Admitting the request the court directed the jail authority to fulfil the request under jail manual.
On the second request for better facilities in Jail, the court ordered that facilities of A-class category may be ensured for accused Naveed Qamar.
Advocate Mohammad Akram Sheikh while appearing on behalf of two accused Usman Kathri and Mustafa Kathri in the same reference case sought exemption from personal appearance for his clients.
On the direction of the court the defence counsel submitted two bonds giving personal undertaking that both the accused would appear before the court on next date of hearing i.e. March-28 to avoid issuance of warrant notices against them.
The Court adjourned the hearing of corruption case against Air Mar Waqar Azeem (Retd) till March-28 for formal hearing.ÑAPP
