EC building
may be completed
by June
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan is likely to have its own building by June this year.
The four-storeyed building is situated in sector G-5, on the Constitution Avenue, in front of the Chief Executive's office.
Eighty percent work has been completed, at the cost of Rs.52.63 million. An additional grant of Rs. 14 million will be required for its timely completion, an official of the Election Commission told APP here on Tuesday.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Qadeer Khan (Retd) visited the building and inspected progress of the work.
He approved the design of its front side and hoped that the building would be completed within stipulated period, and the government would provide necessary funds for this purpose.
The Election House construction, started 16 years back, is still incomplete mainly due to non-availability of funds.ÑAPP
