KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Appellate (ATA) bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Ghulam Nabi Soomro and Justice S A Rabbani on Tuesday reserved judgement in an appeal preferred by two alleged MQM terrorists Kashif alias Shikra and Hamid Hussain alias Raza Ali Alias Piya.

The appellant challenged judgement by the ATC-2 for Karachi division in Sub-Inspector Bilal Jalali murder case. Both the accused were sentenced to serve life term and a fine of Rs 100,000 each.

According to the prosecution, on August 1, 1997, the accused used a lady Zuleika to call the SI Bilal Jalali from his house to another house where the present accused/appellants accompanied by two other accomplices abducted the police officer. The body of SI Bilal was found later in the day near PS Model Colony.

The accused were sent up for trial before the ATC-2 which convicted them. Syed Naqi Mirza represented the appellants/accused.ÑAPP
