Course for automotive mechanics held
RECORDER REPORT
ISLAMABAD: The second certificate award ceremony of the three-week free training course on instrumented tune-ups for automotive mechanics was held at National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE) here on Saturday.
The course was introduced as part of UNDP/Enercon fuel efficiency in road transport sector project.
Certificates were awarded to the 20 participants. The course was organised in collaboration with NISTE and Pak Swiss Small Enterprise Promotion Programme (SSEP).
The programme is designed to help automotive mechanics in public and private sector to learn skills needed for energy efficient vehicular engine tune-ups, which will result in environment friendly operation of diesel and petrol vehicles thereby controlling vehicular exhaust emissions.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Dr. Tahir Hussain, former vice Chancellor, Quaid-I-Azam University commended the efforts of UNDP, Enercon and NISTE in providing a launching pad to automotive mechanics to experiment their skills in acquiring state-of-the-art instrumented tune-up technology.
