Concession of import duty on aluminium rods, bars withdrawn
RECORDER REPORT
ISLAMABAD: Following the decision of Engineering Development Board, the Central Board of Revenue has withdrawn concessional rate of import duty on aluminium bars and aluminium rods.
The CBR has again included these two locally-manufactured items of machinery in the Customs General Order (CGO) for the purpose of concessionary notifications.
The Board has withdrawn its Customs General Order No. 8/2000 issued on March 4, 2000.
According to a Customs General Order No. 9/2000 issued on Monday, the Board has again included aluminium rods and aluminium bars in the list of locally manufactured machinery items.
Both these machinery items were earlier excluded from the Customs General Order (CGO) for the purpose of concessionary notifications through CGO No. 8/2000.
Last week, Engineering Development Board has advised the CBR to exclude aluminium rods and bars from Customs General Order (CGO) for the purpose of concessionary notifications. However, EDB again directed the Board to include these items in the list of locally manufactured goods and items.
