diversion of funds

HYDERABAD: Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association Tando Jam in a meeting held at the campus on Saturday has taken strong exception to the transfer of Rs 25 million of non-development funds received under the B.Ed and M.Ed Degree programmes towards the Development Funds of Dokri Agriculture College without the permission of University syndicate.
The meeting which was presided over by Dr Sagheer Shaikh observed that the university was in financial crunch and demanded an inquiry into the transfer of funds.
It demanded that the senior teachers should be given promotion, vacant posts should be filled without delay and the retired and deceased university teachers should be paid pensions and gratuity.
It further demanded that under the new education policy, the university teachers doing their Ph.Ds should be exempted from the payment of fees and professor Dr Jabbar Shah should be paid his dues as approved by the syndicate. The meeting called upon the university vice-chancellor Dr Bashir Chandio to resolve the problems of the university teachers which had been lying pending.
