PML body meets
today to discuss
Raad, treason
charge issues
ISLAMABAD: An emergent meeting of Human Rights Committee of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz Group) will be held here today (Monday) to take stock of the situation arising out of the killing of Iqbal Raad counsel of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in plane conspiracy case and registration of high treason case against Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and other PML leaders in Sindh under Anti-Terrorism Act.
Talking to the PPI, the chairman of the committee and member of the suspended National Assembly Syed Zafar Ali Shah said the killing of Iqbal Raad and registration of high treason cases against Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, Captain Haleem Siddiqui (Retd), Begum Tahmina Daultana and Begum Ishrat Ashraf on the charges of instigating public against the armed forces speaks well of the human rights situation in the country.
He said the purpose of convening the meeting is to look into these matters and formulate a strategy to deal with the situation arising out of the victimisation of PML(N) by the government.
He said the committee will present its recommendations at the meeting of PML Central Working Committee to be held on March 14 at Peshawar.ÑPPI
