India concealing
HR violations in
occupied Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: India has launched a vain struggle to conceal human rights violations perpetuated on innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in held Kashmir.
In the presence of prevailing conditions in occupied Kashmir, India cannot afford any dialogue on the issue. That is why she is fabricating one or the other lie to escape the situation.
These views were expressed by former foreign secretary Dr Tanveer Ahmed and renowned analyst Prof Khalid Mehmood in PTV programme.
Dr Tanveer said, India is trying to project the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people as terrorism in an endeavour to win western and particularly US favour.
This is impossible in the sense that entire world knows that Kashmiris are struggling for their just right which is accepted and endorsed by the United Nations.
He said, Indian's political agenda along with its military suppression has met failure in the occupied valley and in frustration they have resorted to disintegrate Pakistan which is also a vain attempt.
He said, Indian policy of dictating big powers to mould their foreign policies according to its desires is ridiculous and reflective of confusion to which India is confronted.
This strategy of India will never work because Pakistan is an important country in the region and the big powers particularly US cannot go ahead with their agenda without taking Pakistan into confidence.
He said, Indian leadership and particularly the BJP government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee had never been serious on the solution of Kashmir issue. Vajpayee's visit to Pakistan and the dialogue process was an Indian strategy to calm the situation and gain time. They have been laying more stress on side issues rather than the core issue of Kashmir.
Now as the Chief Executive Pervez Musharraf has clearly announced that their exists no issue between India and Pakistan but Kashmir, the Indian leadership is avoiding dialogue between the two countries.
Earlier, they have been saying that they will think of dialogue only after the situation in Kargil come to normal. They talked about cross border terrorism and now they are worried over the change of government in Pakistan.ÑAPP
