MANAMA: Bahrain-based Arab Insurance Group (ARIG) said on Sunday it had appointed German Udo Krueger as the group's new chief executive officer.

An ARIG statement said Krueger will take up his post on June 1. He replaces former chief Abdul-Wahab al-Tammar who left the group last year.

ARIG is the Arab world's biggest reinsurance firm.

"Udo's appoint is a highly successful outcome to our search for a chief executive of the right calibre to take ARIG forward and to enhance the group's reputation as a major international insurance group," Chairman Nasser al-Nowais said.-Reuters
