Many reported
killed on second
day of strike in
occupied Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: Life remained paralysed on Saturday in the Indian occupied Kashmir on the second day of the strike to draw attention of the world community to the miserable plight of illegally confined Kashmiri political detainees, including senior APHC leaders.
The strike was being observed on the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
Fifteen prominent Kashmiri leaders including Syed Ali Shah Gilani had been under detention on Jodhpur Jail for the last three months.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), bazars, business centres, government and semi-government offices, courts, banks and education institutions were closed and transport remained off the road.
Meanwhile, the APHC has urged the world community to take urgent notice of torture on the young girls in the custody of Indian forces in Pulwama.
The APHC spokesman, while denouncing this savagery, said that one of the four arrested girls, Gulshan Bano, is particular target of Indian task force's brutality who is kept dipped in chilly water all the day long and tortured mercilessly.
On the other hand, arrest of Muslims League Chairman Mian Manzoor Ahmad at Nauthatta, in Srinagar, sparked anti-India demonstrations.
Similar demonstrations were held against the arrest of Imam of mosque, Maulvi Mohammad Yaseen at Safakadal in Srinagar, who is reported missing in custody. Shopkeepers in Doda area agitated against arrest of a fellow shopkeeper, Mairaj Deen.
A military vehicle was blasted on Srinagar-Jammu highway, killing and injuring six army man Indian at Nasoo Badragund. Three more troops were killed at Beerva, in Malpura.
A number of troops were killed and injured in a blast in Zakoora, in Srinagar.
The Indian security forces also suffered casualties in a clash at Basantgarh, in Udhampur. Home of S.P Kolgam was attacked which was extensively damaged.
A military armed agent was also shot dead in Sopora Area.ÑAPP
