Lahore-Delhi
bus damaged
in accident
NEW DELHI: Delhi-bound bus of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) with 37 people on bound was damaged when a tractor-trolley laden with sugarcanes rammed into it on Ambala-Delhi GT Road, Indian press reported on Saturday.
None of the passengers was hurt in the accident, daily The Hindu reported. The lower front portion of the bus was damaged.
The tractor-trolley dashed against the bus. The bus left for its onward journey after a delay of over two hours. "The bus passengers said the driver tried his best to avoid a head-on collision by veering it sideways but the tractor-trolley rammed into it," The Hindu reported.
The bus was carrying 16 Indians, 18 Pakistanis and three foreign nationals besides the three-member crew, including the liaison officer.
The accident came a few days after Shiv Sina activists pelted the bus with stones demanding a halt to bus service between Lahore and Delhi.ÑAPP
