LAHORE: The representatives of at least 15 British educational institutions are participating in the education exhibitions being held next month in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. British Council Director Dr. Robert Snell told APP here on Saturday that the representatives from these institutions would offer comprehensive advice on wide-range of academic courses, career opportunities and welfare matters related to study in Britain. The exhibition offers an ideal opportunity to students and parents to have face-to-face discussions with the academics and admissions officers from British universities. He asked the students to visit the exhibition in city on April 5 at a local hotel for seeking general advice.ÑAPP

Students Week at SM Science College

KARACHI: The Sindh Muslim Government Science College organised a Sindhi debate competition in connection with the students week. A college announcement on Saturday said that Sikandar Ali won the competition. Fazalullah secured the second position. He was followed by M. Umar. The special prize went to Mumtaz Ali. Dr. Mohammad Sharif Memon was the chief guest while the Sindh Muslim Government Science College, Principal Dr. Rafiq Ahmed Siddiqui presided over the programme.ÑAPP

LLB papers postponed till 20th

HYDERABAD: The Controller of Examinations, Sindh University, Jamshoro announced here on Saturday announced extension in the date for a few papers of LLB part-I, II and III Annual Examinations, 1999 to be held after March 11. Change in the schedule was due to their clash with the SSC part-I annual examination, commencing from the same date (March 11). It was announced that these LLB papers would now begin from March 20. A detailed programme for the same has been issued separately by the university authorities.ÑAPP

Open kutcheries

ISLAMABAD: The executive engineer, operation division Westridge, Rawalpindi will hold open kutcheries in his office at 2nd floor, Majeed Plaza, Bank Road, Rawalpindi, on March 14, 22 and 30 at 10.00 a.m. According to Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco), complainers of Westridge, Pirwadhai, R.A. Bazar and Tench Bhatta sub-divisions will be able to register their complaints with supporting documents on above mentioned dates.ÑAPP

RAWALPINDI: The ISO-9000 training in the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry started here on Saturday. The ISO experts held a training session for the RCCI staffers, in which they were informed about the benefits and importance of certification.ÑAPP

SU B.Ed position-holders

HYDERABAD: The controller of examinations, Sindh University, has announced names of position holders for B.Ed examination for the year 1997, held under semester system. Ghulam Mohiuddin son of Dur Mohammed Kamal was declared first. While Ms. Parveen daughter of Abdul Razzaque and Ms. Shabnam daughter of Andal Khan secured second and third positions respectively.ÑAPP

PTV awards ceremony on April 2

ISLAMABAD: The PTV award ceremony 2000 will be held in Lahore on April 2. PTV Managing Director Yousuf Beg Mirza told journalists here on Saturday that the millennium awards would be given to eminent personalities of Pakistan at the ceremony.ÑAPP
